Travelogues Dalmatia: Research Workshop No. 1

Dr. Mateo Bratanić, Dr. Marko Špikić, and Dr. Ana Šverko organized a one-day research workshop as part of the HRZZ project "Where East meets West": Travel Narratives and the Fashioning of a Dalmatian Artistic Heritage in Modern Europe (c. 1675 – c. 1941) at the Institute of Art History in Zagreb on July 15, 2024.

The purpose of the workshop was to share experiences from archival research conducted in various archives in Vienna, London, and Paris, and to reassess the initially set project results in light of new findings.

Additionally, the research team discussed criteria for updating and modernizing the database of travel narratives about Dalmatia, which was established as part of the HRZZ installation project Grand Tour Dalmatia. The presentation of the database is scheduled for the Discovering Dalmatia X program in December this year.
