The fourth edition of the international conference Fast Forward: Women in Photography will be held in Zagreb on November 16 and 17, 2023, at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, in cooperation with the Institute of Art History and the Art Pavilion.
The theme of the conference is "Women, Photography, Conflict", convened by Professor Anna Fox (UCA, University of Creative Arts) and Maria Kapajeva (UCA/EKA, University of Creative Arts), Professor Val Williams (LCC/UAL, London College of Communication, University of Art in London), Nestan Nijaradze (Tbilisi Photo Festival) and Dr. Sandra Križić Roban (Institute of Art History).
The conference, which was initially supposed to be held in Georgia and was moved to Zagreb due to the geopolitical situation in the region, will explore the ways that women photographers have worked in countries affected by conflict and will generate new knowledge within this under researched area.
An exhibition curated by Sandra Križić Roban, which explores the history of women's photography in the region, will be held in the Art Pavilion in Zagreb for the duration of the conference.
